Repair of Boot Lock

Model: Saab 9 5 Ys3e, MK 1 - Years 1997-2010
Part: Trunk lock

If the boot lock does not activate via the remote control (having already checked the battery and the integrity of the micro switches), it is likely a power issue: if the fuses are intact, the power wire to the lock may be broken. Accessing from the cabin, fold down the rear seat and pull the cord for the manual boot release. Once open, near the left shock absorber, you can see the cable sheath and intercept the broken wire, which should be repaired with solder and well insulated with heat-shrink tubing.

How to Change the Brake Pads on a Volkswagen New Beetle

Learn how to change the front brake pads on a Volkswagen New Beetle. First, lift the car on a column lift to the desired height, then remove the wheel (using a telescopic spanner or air impact wrench) along with the respective bolts. Unscrew the locking bolt of the brake caliper, remove it from the wheel hub support, and detach the pads from the brake caliper using a screwdriver. Install the new pads on the brake caliper and refit the brake caliper to the support; tighten all bolts and remount the wheel. Proceed to perform the same operations on the other calipers present on the vehicle.
