If the car engine does not start, it is likely that fuel is not reaching the engine due to a failure of the submerged pump located in the fuel tank: this can be inferred as there is no hissing sound from the fuel system pressurisation when the ignition is turned on. Therefore, lift the rear seat cushions: a cut carpet disc is immediately visible beneath which is the access hatch for the fuel pump. Lift the disc, remove the cap, disconnect the connectors attached to the pump and the float, the feed and return pipes, and unclip the pump bucket by rotating it counterclockwise (bayonet fitting). Once the bucket complete with pump and float is extracted, it is possible to replace only the pump (cylindrical in shape), which is usually also available in the aftermarket.
