How to change oil and filter on the Skoda Octavia 1Z5

Let's see how to change the oil and filter on a Skoda Octavia: we open the oil cap inside the hood; this will help us drain the oil more quickly. We lift the car by placing it on two jack stands and locate the drain plug, positioning ourselves under a large basin. We open the drain plug and let the oil flow out. Meanwhile, we take care of the filter (which still contains oil, so we need a second basin). We remove the filter, clean the housing and after inserting the new filter, lubricate the gasket with clean oil. We screw the filter on by hand, then put on a new cap and a new gasket on the oil pan. We lower the car and go refill the oil, according to the manufacturer's specifications, filling the tank to 90% capacity. We start the engine and let it run for a few minutes: we check for leaks and measure the level with the dipstick. We add oil until it reaches just below the maximum level. We dispose of the used oil properly at an authorized center.
