How to Install a Dash Cam

The best place to install a dash cam is definitely behind the central mirror, as it does not obstruct your view and provides a better angle for recording. Typically, these devices come with a fairly long USB cable for installation in the headlining, then down the A-pillar where you have opened it to pass the wire, all the way to the fuse box located between the steering column and the driver's door. This avoids routing it to the centre console, where you would connect it to the USB socket. For a cleaner job, our YouTuber created a bridge inside the fuse box, using the fuse for the cigarette lighter, so when you start the car, the dash cam also powers on. This is done using a converter that you can find on Amazon, brand JZK, costing £8.99 including delivery. This way, the dash cam turns on when the vehicle starts.
