How to Keep the Cigarette Lighter Socket Always Active in Volkswagen/Audi/Skoda Cars

This system applies to vehicles with the MQB chassis, which includes most Volkswagen cars (excluding the Polo), some Audi models (A3/Q2/TT), Skoda Octavia and Superb, and the Seat Leon. If you want to keep the power socket active even when the car is off, you can do this with a small modification to the fuse box. If you look in the cabin fuse box - located between the steering column and the driver's door - the large yellow 20 Amp fuse at the bottom, you only need to move it one position higher, and the cigarette lighter will remain active even when the vehicle is off. This way, you can keep a power bank charging.
