Instructions for Replacing the Timing Belt on the Skoda Fabia

Replacing the timing belt on any vehicle is a complex task and should be carried out by qualified personnel. This description outlines the main steps to follow. Open the bonnet. Remove the fasteners for the lower soundproofing and take it out. Pull the tensioner pulley of the V-belt sideways and remove it. Remove the front right wheel, place a jack under the engine cover using a board, and lift it slightly. Remove the upper timing belt cover by disengaging the two clips. Unscrew the upper engine mounting bracket. There are only three bolts and one nut. Lock the relative position of the crankshaft pulley and camshaft with two pins to maintain the engine timing. Finally, remove the lower timing belt covers and loosen the tensioner to then remove the belt.
