In this video, we can see how to replace the clutch actuator of the Smart 451. The youtuber purchased a Sachs actuator, which can be found on the website edsmartparts.com with reference n888 at a price of 396.00 euros, suitable for all Smart 451 models, both petrol and diesel.

It is also important to buy the original Smart bolts (2 vertical and 1 horizontal) which cost about 5 euros each.

We remove the old actuator and mark its position. We apply a little white grease to the new bolts to prevent them from seizing in the future.

Then we mount the new actuator aligning it with the previous marking. The actuator is an electric motor that operates the clutch instead of the pedal.

If it malfunctions, it can cause shifting problems, sudden braking, error lights, and often prevents the car from moving.
