How to repair the window regulator of the Smart 450

Today we will explain how to repair the window regulator of the right window on a Smart 450 car. Before proceeding with the removal of the window regulator, we must remove the side turn signal light and open the door in order to remove the external rearview mirror; by unhooking the plastic parts and unscrewing the support screws. Then, using a Torx T25 screwdriver, we unscrew the support screws of the handle and after disconnecting the connector with the help of pliers and removing the hook of the mechanism, we remove the handle. We insert a plastic tool inside the door panel to apply pressure outward and remove the cover with the help of a T30 screwdriver, we unscrew the three pins on the window regulator bracket. We then remove the window, being careful not to break it. We then unhook the steel cable of the motor and let the small cord come out, then unhook the rear part of the hook. After removing the mechanism, we move to a work surface and perform a lever action outward to open the mechanism and work on the gears. We then proceed to replace the gears using the complete kit purchased online. We insert the cord inside the bracket and position it in correspondence with the hooks on the door panel. We position the cord inside the mechanism and with a T30 key, tighten the screws of the window regulator motor so that we can insert the plastic mechanism. After positioning the mechanism, we insert the window inside the panel and tighten the screws on the brackets. We mount the panel cover and insert the handle. We connect the connector, screw in the screws, and adjust the mechanism. We insert the external rearview mirror and the side turn signal light.
