How to open the front bonnet of the Smart Fortwo for maintenance and bulb replacement? Follow these steps: pull the plastic levers (located at the sides of the front grille) towards the centre of the grille with your hands. Once the catches at the front are released, the bonnet will drop down, then slide it as shown in the video. Once opened, perform maintenance on your car (topping up fluids and changing bulbs). To proceed with reassembly: slide the plastic cover back over the front of the car. Finally, close the bonnet release levers with your hands.
