Removing the engine air filter? Remove the engine air filter from the Smart Fortwo located in the engine compartment. Open the engine compartment of the Smart, lift the engine cover, and locate the filter housing. Unscrew the retaining screws of the clamp that secures the air tube. Open the air kit, remove the cover of the filter box, and extract the worn air filter. Insert a new filter into the designated housing (ensuring it fits snugly against the walls). Finally, reattach the cover of the air box and tighten the screws. Close the rear hatch after maintenance.
