Before you can start, lift the rear end of your Smart ForTwo Diesel. Begin by disconnecting the hoses connected to the diesel fuel filter, unclipping the retaining clips.

Next, unscrew and remove the bolts that secure the support brackets of the diesel fuel filter. Once done, remove the diesel fuel filter itself.

After completing this step, you will have finished the removal. To fit the new diesel fuel filter on your Smart ForTwo Diesel, simply follow these instructions in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
