How to remove the external handle of the Smart Fortwo? Here’s a brief guide on how to take off the handle and remove it from the door housing. To disassemble the lock, you will need a screwdriver. First, unscrew the screws located on the side of the door (inner side) using the screwdriver. Remove the entire handle along with the fixing plastic from inside the door: detach the handle from the housing. Fit the new handle into the plastics and then into the door. Finally, attach the handle and test its operation: release the handle.
