Removing the Armrest on a Smart Car

Model: Smart Smart 453 - Years 2014-2022

At the back and bottom of the armrest, as shown in the video, there are two plastic covers (one on each side) that can be easily removed. Remove them by hand or using a plastic wedge or a small flathead screwdriver. Unscrew the two screws on each side that are now exposed, then remove the cigarette lighter by simply pulling it out and disconnecting its connector. At this point, you can extract the armrest from its housing and proceed in reverse for reassembly. As you can see, this is a straightforward procedure, although it may take some time. Good luck!
