How to Unlock the Stuck Gear of the Smart Fortwo 453?

If the automatic gearbox of the Smart Fortwo series 453 is stuck, for example due to a completely discharged battery, and you need to put the gearbox into neutral, you can proceed by following the steps shown in the attached video. First, remove the plastic cover of the gear console, then lift the entire plastic of the centre tunnel just enough to free a small yellow switch located on the floor. With the key inserted, push this switch upwards for a few seconds; this will engage the neutral gear.
