How to Replace the Clutch on a Smart 453?

To replace the clutch on a Smart 453, lift the vehicle using a ramp to access the underside. Here, drain the oil from the gearbox by unscrewing the drain plug. Next, access the engine compartment by unscrewing the screws securing the air filter box and then those securing the gearbox. By also removing the right front wheel and its corresponding shock absorber, you can unscrew the final bolts securing the gearbox; this will allow it to be extracted, enabling you to replace the clutch.
