Guide to replace the thermostat of the Smart Fortwo 450

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007
Part: Thermostat

In this guide we will see the main instructions for disassembling and replacing the thermostat or thermostatic valve of the Smart Fortwo 450. First of all, we open the tailgate, thus accessing the upper part of the engine; after that we go to disconnect our temperature sensor electrical connector. At this point, open the coolant bleed valve, making it drain into a container; then we unscrew the screws of the thermostat, in order to remove it and replace it with the new one. We just have to reassemble the new valve, connecting the pipes and the electrical connector of the sensor.

How to Remove the Front Shock Absorber on a Peugeot 406

How to remove the front shock absorber on a Peugeot 406? The first step is to lift the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod. Use a socket wrench to unscrew the shock absorber mounting bolts (engine bay), lift the car on a column lift and remove the front wheel. Unscrew the shock absorber mounting bolts at the wheel hub (detach the brake line clips with a screwdriver). Unscrew the bolts on the side, then remove the shock absorber from its housing (place a support under the bar). Compare the old part with the new one and prepare for installation. Fit the new shock absorber to the car, working in reverse order.
