In this video, you will see how to remove and replace the coolant temperature thermostat on the Smart Fortwo 800 Diesel. First, move to the rear to access the top of the engine; then start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the thermostat. At this point, remove the coolant hose from underneath the vehicle by loosening the metal clip, allowing it to drain into a container; then unscrew the thermostat bolts using an 8 mm socket spanner. Finally, remove it and replace it with the new one!
