In this guide, follow the main instructions to remove and replace the thermostat or thermostat valve of the Smart Fortwo 450. First, open the boot to access the top of the engine; then disconnect the electrical connector of the temperature sensor. Next, open the coolant drain valve, allowing the fluid to drain into a container; then unscrew the thermostat screws to remove it and replace it with the new one. Finally, refit the new valve, reconnecting the hoses and the electrical connector of the sensor.
