How to Change the Transmission Oil on the Smart 450

This guide shows how to change the transmission oil on the Smart 450. The first step is to lift the vehicle or the rear part, as the transmission is at the back. Locate the drain bolt and unscrew it with a 7 mm spanner. Position a container to collect the used fluid. Unscrew the transmission fill bolt with an 8 mm spanner and top up the oil. The correct lubricant level is reached when fluid starts to flow from the hole. Close the cap and clean up any oil residue.
