What to Do if a Smart Window is Stuck and the Handle Won't Open

If the window of your Smart won't open because the rubber has become too hard and you can't open or close the window, it becomes a problem. This is an issue that can happen to any car of a certain age. Let's see a trick to solve it. Just get a can of lubricant (10.51 euros on Amazon + 3.99 euros for shipping). Lower the window and spray it inside the glass compartment. Get some kitchen roll to clean up. Let it act for a moment, then operate the window several times to lubricate it well. Give it a second spray. If the handle of the car is stiff and doesn't move smoothly, you can solve it with the same method. Here too, the plastic has hardened and you need to apply a lot of force. Find the hole where the mechanism moves and spray. Spray also from the inside of the mechanism, not just from the handle. Let it move several times to lubricate the gear well and you're done.

How to Open a Stuck Boot on the Peugeot 407?
