How to Open the Bonnet of a Smart Fortwo

If you need to perform maintenance on your Smart Fortwo, you must remove the front bonnet (to top up the reservoirs). Here’s how to do it. Release the two levers located inside the front grille (on both sides), take hold of the front bonnet with your hands and lift it upwards, then detach it from the front of the Smart (use the retaining strap). Top up all the reservoirs with fluids and then refit the bonnet. Place the front bonnet back over the front (as you removed it) and secure it with the plastic levers you previously unlocked.
