How to adjust the headlights with your smartphone

To measure light from headlights, your phone or tablet must have a light sensor. You can know, because if there is the "auto brightness" option, there is also the light sensor. You have to measure the height at the center of the headlight, which in this case is 62cm, then switch on the dipped headlights at night, standing five meters in front of the vehicle. Install a light-measuring application, such as the free "Light Meter" app for Android, on your phone. This application measures the intensity of light using the phone's light sensor. Look for the height corresponding to the maximum intensity of the luminous flux. In this case it corresponds to 45 cm. The nominal angle of the headlight is written on the headlight bracket. On this vehicle it corresponds to 1.2%. Now we need to calculate the inclination of the lighthouse: The inclination equals the height of the center of the projector - the height of the lighthouse at 5 meters divided by 5 meters multiplied by 100 so = (0.62-0.45/5x100) total 3.4%. So if the nominal inclination is 1.2%, it means that the light beam is too low. To raise the beam, use the vertical adjustment screw to bring it closer to the nominal inclination and then repeat the measurement.
