How to disable the Start & Stop on the Smart 451

As you know, the starter belt of the Smart 451 is subject to severe wear. It is recommended to replace it after 60,000 km, but rarely does it reach that point. In reality, it breaks between 20,000 and 40,000 km, and if it happens on the highway, it can cause the engine to overheat with serious damage. Therefore, not using the Start & Stop feature can be a way to prolong its life. Let's see how to do it: press the "off" button on the central console, and place a paperclip to counteract the button in order to simulate continuous pressure. This way, the Start & Stop system will always be deactivated, in a simple and inexpensive way.
