As shown in this tutorial, replacing the rear light bulbs in the Smart ForTwo is an extremely simple and quick operation. First, ensure that the key is not inserted, then open the boot lid, locate the two screws on the inner edge of the light in question, and using a Torx key, unscrew both.

Next, grasp the light unit, pull it towards you, and separate it from the bodywork. At this point, disconnect the power connector, open the internal base, and replace the faulty bulb.
