To replace the air filter on the Smart Fortwo, open the rear hatch and detach the carpet located at the base of the rear compartment: underneath, you will find the engine, which is mounted in the rear of this car. Once you locate the engine compartment on the left, you will find the air filter box that needs to be opened by loosening its securing screws: this will allow you to remove the filter inside and replace it with a new one. After the replacement, check that everything is functioning correctly.
