To install the reversing camera on the Smart Fortwo, start by making the connections behind the radio, installing the video connections for the camera. Once the connections are made, run the cables through the upper interior of the vehicle, then drop them down from the back to reach the rear, connecting the positive cable to the reverse light so that it activates when reverse is engaged. Position the camera in the desired location near the rear number plate, running the cables from the number plate light inside, passing them through the connection between the tailgate and the boot interior. Once the camera is positioned, connected to the reverse light and the infotainment system, turn on the instrument cluster, engage reverse, and check the correct operation of the camera with the guiding lines.
