If you need to replace the button cell battery inside your Subaru Ascent key fob, just follow the steps outlined in this mini guide. The entire procedure takes only a few seconds and can be done by anyone at any time. First, locate and press the small button on the back of the cover to slide out the physical emergency key. Next, use the tip of a flathead screwdriver to remove the back cover. Once you have access to the battery that needs to be replaced, remove it and insert the new battery. Finally, reattach the cover and reinsert the emergency key.
