To replace the external wing mirror on a Subaru Forester, first detach the door panel by removing its mounting screws. Once the panel is completely removed, lower the underlying fabric cover to disconnect the connector for the mirror.

After the connector is removed, unscrew the mirror's mounting screws and extract the mirror from the outside of the door. A new replacement part can then be installed along with all previously removed components.
