How to Change the Tire on the Subaru Ascent

To change the flat tire on the Subaru Ascent, start by opening the trunk and removing the lower panel. Take the tools to remove the wheel from the left compartment, the jack from the right compartment, and in the center of the two compartments, you will find a plastic cover that you will remove. Take off the plastic cap and find a nut that you will unscrew with the appropriate wrench to lower the spare tire from the hook. Go to where the tire needs to be changed, place the jack in the designated spots, loosen the wheel bolts, lift the vehicle, finish unscrewing the bolts, and remove the wheel. Now take the spare tire, place it on the hub, hand-tighten the bolts, lower the vehicle, remove the jack, and securely tighten the bolts (tighten them in a star pattern); finally, place the flat tire in the trunk or in the hook where the spare tire was, reattach it by tightening the nut with the appropriate wrench, put the jack and tools back in their compartments, replace the trunk panel, and close the hatch.
