How to Make a Custom Cover for the Tow Hitch of the Subaru Ascent

Learn how to expose the tow hitch of the Subaru Ascent without removing its cover every time. Modify the existing cover by creating a hole for the hitch, allowing it to remain mounted and eliminating the need to remove the cover repeatedly. This will be much more practical. Measure the size of the hole you want to create. Our YouTuber wants to make a hole significantly larger than the hitch itself, leaving only three inches on each side. Three inches is approximately 7.6 cm on each side. Once the center section is cut out, finish the edges with a plastic trim applied to the raw edge of the cut. Then, heat the trim with a heat gun (a regular hairdryer works fine too) and focus on the joint area, heating it more to shape it well so the joint is not visible. Apply a bead of glue all around the trim. Now, position the removable bumper piece back in place and attach the tow hitch, securing it in place. Perfect job.
