The procedure for replacing the battery of a Subaru key/remote is the same for all vehicles from the same manufacturer. Today, we will specifically look at replacing the remote battery for a Subaru XV. Start the replacement by extracting the emergency key from the remote; to do this, press the button located on the back of the remote. Once the metal key is removed, insert it into the right side of the internal part of the remote to open it. After opening, remove the battery and insert a CW2032 3 V battery, then close the remote.
