How to Replace the Alternator on a Suzuki Vitara

Model: Suzuki Vitara TA, MK 1, ET - Years 1988-1998
Part: Alternator

Before you begin, open the front bonnet of your Suzuki Vitara. Start by disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery for safety. Next, loosen the belt tensioner of the auxiliary belt, then move the belt itself. After that, unscrew and remove the bolts that secure the alternator in its housing. At this point, disconnect the electrical connector attached to the alternator. Once you have completed this step, you can pull out the alternator, completing the removal. To install the new alternator, simply follow these instructions in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
