How to adjust the handbrake cable on the Suzuki Grand Vitara

Model: Suzuki Vitara LY - Years 2015-2024
Part: Parking brake

In this video, we can see how to adjust the handbrake cable on the Suzuki Grand Vitara. We need to unscrew the screw located at the base of the central glove compartment, which also acts as a central armrest. There is one on the outside and two on the inside of the glove compartment. This way, we can lift the armrest and access the handbrake cables, which we can tighten with a common wrench. Tighten it so that the brake lever can come up to a maximum of three/four notches when fully raised. Now we can lower the glove compartment and tighten the three screws we loosened earlier. In the video, we can also see how to adjust the bearings: we need to remove the rear wheels and remove the rubber grommet on the disc; from there, we will adjust it using the tip of a screwdriver. Put the grommet back on. The job is done.

How to Remove the Gear Knob on an Opel Astra

How to replace the gear knob on an Opel Astra? Follow these steps: use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (if you need to replace it). Grip the knob with both hands and pull it upwards (with a strong and decisive motion) until it comes off the gear stick. For installation: fit the new gaiter and position it on the centre tunnel, take the new knob and push it onto the stick, tightening it until fully threaded. Test the movement of the stick on the centre tunnel to ensure the knob is correctly fitted.
