Remove the small plastic cover around the lock. Then, using a small flathead screwdriver, gently pry it off to see the mechanism. With the help of a torch, look inside the metal mechanism. You should see a slot or a point where a component moves. Insert the small flat screwdriver into that slot and push in the direction that would typically open it (often downwards). You should hear a click, and the compartment will open.
