Video tutorial

To replace the variator on the Sym MaxSym TL500, loosen the screws securing the transmission cover: this cover is located on the left side of the bike, near the footrest platform. Once the screws securing the cover are loosened, locate the variator underneath: by loosening the central nut that holds it and removing the corresponding belt, you can extract it from its housing and insert the new one. To dismantle the engine of the TM Racing MX 125, loosen the screws securing the side casing of the bike so that it can be removed, providing access to the clutch. Next, remove the spark plug from the top of the cylinder, then loosen the screws securing the cylinder as well: after removing the cylinder, you will be able to locate the piston underneath, which must be freed from the conrod by expanding its retaining ring.
