Here’s how to replace the number plate bulb on a Toyota Prius: Open the boot lid, and use a plastic lever to remove the plastic cover located in the rear tailgate of the car. Once the clear light unit is removed, extract the bulb from it (disconnect the power connectors).

Fit the new bulb (same size and voltage) into the bulb holder, then refit the light unit into the tailgate trim.

Finally, test the correct operation of the previously fitted bulb.
