In this video, we can see how to open the trunk of the Toyota Aygo (also of the Citroen C1 and the Peugeot 108, which are essentially the same car) that is stuck. From inside the trunk, we need to remove all the plastic coverings, and then remove the safety caps, lifting the lid with a slight lever. This will expose the mechanism, and we can open the trunk, which still does not open from the outside; the reason is that when we press the external button, the plastic lever does not grip the metal one to activate the opening of the tailgate. Aligning the two levers only worked for a short time, so we had to change the entire mechanism, which is expensive when new, so it is better to look at a dismantler or online searching for used parts. We need to remove the two fixing bolts, and it will be necessary to move the rear bumper a bit to remove it and then put it back in place.
