Fuel Cap of the Toyota Hilux Stuck Due to Rusty Cable

The fuel cap on this Toyota Hilux is stuck due to the control cable (which runs from the cabin to the tank) being rusted. The critical point is near the left rear wheel, where the cable passes through a guide, and rubbing has caused it to lose its protective sheath, resulting in rust and a blockage. You will need some WD-40, and locate the point where the cable is worn. Apply a generous amount of WD-40 right at that spot, trying to let it penetrate as much as possible, and wait 10 to 15 minutes. After letting it sit, have someone inside the cabin operate the fuel cap release lever. While they do this, gently try to move the cable from underneath with your hands (wearing gloves) at the lubricated point, trying to help it slide. If necessary, apply more lubricant.
