How to Remove Water from the Headlights of a Toyota Highlander (and others)

See how to remove water from the headlights of a Toyota Highlander (but the method is the same for all vehicles). The headlight unit is held by three 10mm nuts; remove the inner panels to access the nuts, disconnect the bulbs to fully extract the headlight.

Turn it upside down to let out as much water as possible, insert a jet of air using a hairdryer (not too hot, though); the steam will help dry the headlight. The problem is almost always the upper seal that has failed over time.

Clean the edges well, apply epoxy resin along the entire joint between the clear plastic and the headlight body; remove the tape when the adhesive is still slightly damp (dry to the touch) to prevent it from sticking.
