Removing the alternator from the Toyota RAV 4. Here's how to do it. Lift the bonnet and secure it, locate the battery and disconnect the terminals. Remove the cover panel above the engine head. Unscrew the bolts with a socket wrench on the sides of the alternator, then remove the belt. Once the removal is complete, extract the alternator from the engine bay. Take the new replacement part and insert it into the engine bay, then tighten the side bolts of the alternator. Refit the alternator belt, electrical connectors, and various covers.
