How to Perform a Service on a Toyota RAV4

Start the car and let it warm up for about 10 minutes until it reaches operating temperature, then turn off the vehicle and begin the maintenance. Lift the car with a lift or hydraulic jack and place safety jack stands; remove the plastic cover that protects the engine from splashes; position a container for the used oil under the vehicle and unscrew the drain plug; wait for all the oil to drain into the container, while it finishes dripping, proceed to unscrew the filter cartridge with a special tool; replace the old filter and fit the new filter with new seals for the filter holder. Next, screw the oil drain plug back in, lower the vehicle, and top up with the specific engine oil (5W 30) for this engine.
