The name of this Toyota is quite complex because it consists of several variants targeting different markets. In fact, the Toyota Innova is a compact minivan with three rows of seats, produced since 2004 and marketed in Japan. In Indonesia, it is produced in collaboration with Astra Motors, under the name Toyota Kijang Innova in the same year. This version is built on a chassis shared with the Hilux van and the Fortuner SUV for greater robustness, preferred by the Indonesian market. The second generation, launched in 2015, has also been marketed in India and Thailand under the name Innova Crysta. It is powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 136 hp, a 2.7-liter gasoline engine with 160 hp, or a 2.5-liter VVT-i engine with 102 hp, paired with an automatic transmission. In other markets, numerous variants are available, determined by emissions regulations and tax rates. In March 2022, an all-electric model was also presented, featuring a lithium-ion battery with an estimated range of about 124/186 miles. This model is not expected to be imported to Europe.
