Before performing brake maintenance, empty the brake fluid reservoir and refill it at the end of the process. To free the brake caliper from the disc, simply loosen the smaller 8 mm bolt and the two larger 14 mm bolts. Once the caliper is free, manually remove the central pin that holds the pads in place, then remove the pin itself by unscrewing it. At this point, you can extract the pads from the caliper and push back the pistons that hold them, as the new pads will obviously be much thicker than the worn ones.
