This guide shows how to replace the oil filter and engine oil of the Triumph Trident 660. For maximum safety, it is recommended to use a motorcycle stand. The first step is to run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil and allow it to drain more quickly. After placing an oil disposal container under the oil sump of the motorcycle, you can unscrew the drain plug and let the fluid flow out. Using an oil filter wrench, unscrew the engine oil filter located just above the drain plug. Be careful if the gasket remains attached to the engine. Clean any residue from the old oil and refit the new filter after wetting it with oil. Refit the drain plug. From the right side of the motorcycle, after unscrewing the oil filler cap, fill it with new lubricant that meets the manufacturer's specifications. Start the engine for a few minutes to circulate the oil. Turn off the engine and check the fluid level again, topping up if necessary.
