For this job, you will need some fibreglass filler. You can easily obtain it from a motorcycle parts supplier or by purchasing it on Amazon. It costs £8.90. The first step is to sand the area with fine grit paper, around 240, then degrease thoroughly. Next, add the mesh from underneath, securing it with tape. The filler is a two-component product in a 5:1 ratio. Apply the filler well from underneath, where the mesh is located. Then apply it from above. If there is excess, remove it when dry using sandpaper. Allow it to dry for a couple of hours, then sand it down. Remove any excess mesh from underneath. Naturally, it doesn't matter if you sand underneath, as it won't be visible. On the outer part, spray a light coat of primer, then once dry, apply two (preferably three) coats of paint, allowing each coat to dry properly for a perfect finish.
