In certain cases, the light coming on means that the system is working, right at that moment: Traction control is designed to work when the tires may not be in contact with the asphalt of the road, in case of rain, ice or mud, transferring power to the tires that are in contact with the road, so that we can continue to drive safely in the right direction; without traction control there is a risk of aquaplaning or skidding off the road. If the light comes on when the weather is sunny, then we have a problem in the system, which is not working properly, and it may depend on a faulty wheel sensor or a problem in the control computer unit. If it flashes in bad weather, it could indicate that it is unable to detect when the wheels lose grip.
