What Does the Engine Light Indicate When It's On?

The Engine light is a warning generated by the ECU when it detects a problem in the emissions control system or the engine, such as faulty sensors, ignition issues, leaks in the fuel cap system, or a clogged catalyst. If the light is steady, drive cautiously and schedule a check soon. If the light is flashing, it indicates an emergency that could damage the catalyst: stop immediately and call a breakdown service, but do not turn off the engine right away, as this could cause the engine to seize! The light being on may prevent the car from exceeding 18-25 mph, while disabling a number of functions. Therefore, drive only as necessary, do not disconnect the battery as this would reset the light but not resolve the fault.

How to Open a Stuck Boot on the Peugeot 407?

On the Peugeot 407, the boot may become stuck, possibly due to a problem with the control button or the lock actuator. In such cases, you can perform an emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial. First, open the rear doors, then lower the seat back by operating the release lever. Next, go inside the boot, locate the lock, and manually operate it using a flathead screwdriver. The boot will then be free to open.
