Electronic stability control is an extremely useful device for the vehicle, designed to help maintain control in adverse conditions such as icy or slippery wet roads. The system uses the same sensors as the ABS to measure wheel speed; therefore, in the event of a loss of grip or a skid, the wheel speed will change rapidly, and the system's control unit will intervene on engine power and brakes to generate a force that counteracts the skid and corrects the trajectory. So, when the electronic stability control light comes on for a few moments, there is no need to do much, just wait for the dangerous situation to pass.
