What do the codes on a tyre indicate? Let’s break down the one in the video: 215/55/R17 94V: 215 is the tread width in millimetres, from one side to the other; 55 is the percentage of the sidewall height relative to the width. So, 55% of 215 mm; R stands for radial, as 99% of tyres made today are radial ply. The 17 is the diameter in inches of the rim (from one edge to the other); 94 is the load index (the term is inverted in the video) and indicates the load capacity, derived from a table; V indicates a speed rating (again, the video inverts the two values) and this is also derived from a table. Other important codes that may appear on the tyre are "XL" for reinforced: used for heavy vehicles; "M+S" indicates Mud and Snow and appears on all-season tyres; "3PMSF and snowflake" is a certified winter tyre; DOT (e.g., DOT 4322) is the production date: week 43 of 2022.

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level.
