The choice between steel wheels and alloy wheels is a question many have pondered: there is no absolute right choice, but rather the most suitable choice for your needs, driving style, and budget. Your car will have different performance and character depending on your choice. Choose alloy wheels if your priority is aesthetics, if you desire better performance due to their lighter weight, and also a slight improvement in fuel consumption; naturally, this is if you primarily drive on tarmacked roads or in good condition. If your priority is cost-saving, go for steel wheels; if you live in areas with rough roads or potholes, then steel is the mandatory choice. If you use them as winter wheels, where salt and adverse conditions can damage alloys, then steel is the best option. If you are worried about hitting kerbs and damaging alloy wheels, know that these are recessed compared to steel ones, giving you a lower chance of damaging them!
