If your priority is cost-saving, go for steel wheels; if you live in areas with rough roads or potholes, then steel is the mandatory choice. If you use them as winter wheels, where salt and adverse conditions can damage alloys, then steel is the best option. If you are worried about hitting kerbs and damaging alloy wheels, know that these are recessed compared to steel ones, giving you a lower chance of damaging them!
